Atheists are Illogical Untermenschen

That some theists think that they are superior to atheists should be obvious by now, but it's rare for them to express their feelings of superiority very openly and unambiguously. To do so would mean revealing their bigotry for everyone to see and that just wouldn’t sit well with their self-image as moral, upstanding citizens. It's tough to maintain feelings of superiority when doing and saying vile things.

One of the main points of this blog is to highlight the fact that sin chips away at and destroys the human capacity to reason because it not only destroys the effect of God’s grace in a believer’s soul, but darkens the souls of all persons. Atheism—a direct sin against the First and Second Commandments—ultimately reduces atheists to illogical untermenschen who will justify the most heinous of crimes in support of their nihilistic worldview.

Untermenschen? In case you weren't aware, that's the term used by the Nazis for "sub-humans," all those races and ethnic groups who were considered unworthy of being treated as "full" humans like Aryans. They might not be marked for immediate extermination, like Jews, but they were marked for inferior treatment. Ethnic Poles, for example, were to be confined to a small pseudo-nation that would have no power and where they could be used as little more than migratory, slave labor. That's what being classified as Untermenschen means and that's how "Reasoning Repaired" describes not believing in gods.

If this were an example of "good" reasoning that has been "repaired," I think I'd be happier to remain in an unreasoning state. Fortunately, it's less an example of "reasoning repaired" than of "bigotry renewed."
