You all might have seen this comment: "By your language on Aaron's comments (re: angels) I would have to say since you are with out religion and you cuss, probably drink like a fish and sleep with what ever you want....No religion has nothing to do with morals," Made here.
One of the things I said to the guy was "Personally, I don't see what cussing, being without religion, and drinking have to do with morality, but okay." I did broach the subject of sex - but only from a Christian perspective. I am in a monogamous marriage.
However, I want to approach the subject from a moral perspective.
Is SEX - and "sleep[ing] with what ever [sic] [I] want" immoral????
To me, LYING about who you are sleeping with and WHY is immoral. But if you choose to have sex with someone, and they want to have sex with you, and you have sex - that is in NO WAY WHATSOEVER immoral. Sex isn't bad. Let's face it: sex is DAMN good. Even when it IS bad. :) If you are married and in an open relationship and you and your partner decide to have sex with other people, cool. Nothing wrong with that. IF, however, you are married and your spouse thinks you are faithful and you are a little cheat well THAT is immoral.
So me fucking whomever I choose and whenever I choose is not a moral issue. When it comes down to it, it's honesty. And let me tell you, I've been dishonest in the past, but I'm pretty honest these days.
What taught me how to lie? What taught me how to live a double life? Being raised as a Christian. I COULDN'T sin - so instead of being able to go out with friends, I'd sneak out at night. To my parents, I was the perfect little angel. But I was living a double life. What's moral about that??
Christianity doesn't teach you morals. It teaches you how to PRETEND to be a certain way. It teaches you how you are supposed to appear and act around other people who are supposed to believe as you do. If Christianity taught morals don't kill, don't lie, don't cheat, don't steal, do unto others...why is there so much crime in the U.S. which is predominantly Christian??? Christians spend too much time worrying about what people are doing with their penises and vaginas. The act of sex is not immoral.
